FAQ's

Welcome to Silver Hand Co! We're glad you're here.

If you can't find the answers you're looking for here, don't hesitate to reach out and shoot us an email or drop by the store.

Where are you located?

You can find us at 3070 Blake St. #140, Denver, Colorado.

Do you manufacture everything in-house at your store?

Yes! All of our bags, wallets, accessories and backpacks are made right here in house, and are sold less than ten feet from where they were created.

I just placed an order - how long will it take for my bag to reach me?

Because everything is done by hand, we ask that you allow 5-7 days for us to finish processing your order, in addition to selected shipping time.
We do have some of our products ready to go on the shelves, but we are making fresh batches of products every day and there's a good chance we're in the process of building your bag right now as you read this!
Of course, don't hesitate to reach out for more exact details on when your bag will be finished & arrive. If you're in a rush, please let us know and we will do what we can to hasten the process.

Something happened to my bag. Can you fix it or replace it?

While our bags should be able to withstand a good amount of weathering, we'll happily fix or replace anything that goes wrong. Please contact us.

Do you sell any softer leather products?

Nope. The leather we use for our bags and wallets is saddle weight, and would normally is used to make horse tack and saddles. It's heavy and smooth, and intended to withstand the test of time.
It will, however, soften and mold into shape with continual use, meaning this bag will become uniquely yours! Purchasing a bag is like purchasing a blank slate that you can use to fit your style.

Where do you source your leather?

We use long-time tanners Wickett & Craig out of Curwensville, Pennsylvania. They're the best in the business. You can read a little more about them in this post.

I have something really specific in mind - can you make something custom for me?

Absolutely! We love to collaborate on projects, from restaurant and barware to custom bags and wallets. Shoot us an email or drop by the shop and let's collaborate!

Note: often on projects we have to create multiple prototypes before settling on a final design. We usually work with collaborators to make it as budget-friendly as possible, but please note there may be a materials cost for prototyping.

What are your store hours?

Monday - Closed / Tuesday through Saturday - 9 to 5 / Sundays - 11-4

I'm a maker in Denver, too! Can we collaborate?

Absolutely! Send us an email.

Do you guys host workshops or events?

We love hosting events, and have some really cool leather and design workshops in the works. Keep an eye on our social media for announcements.
Being located in the RiNo arts district within the Backyard on Blake community means we have a great space for hosting events. If you have something in mind you'd like to collaborate on, hit us up!

I read something about the Philippines. I'm confused - are you guys a nonprofit?

We are not a nonprofit, and not a 501(c)3.
Our proceeds do benefit an overseas project we're working on the Philippines, which you can read more about here or donate to here

Where do your proceeds go?

With every sale, a portion of the proceeds goes directly back to Baguio City in the Philippines, where we are growing a coffee farm that houses and provides jobs for impoverished women and their families. Your purchase means that we can continue to provide housing for them, and continue to pay them well above the usual wage.

Wait - you're growing coffee in the Philippines?

As part of our long-term business plan, one day we hope to take the coffee grown on this farm and open our own culinary/coffee/leather collaboration space. Stay tuned for more details!

Why the Philippines?

Isaac Tarectecan, owner and manufacturer here at Silver Hand, is full-blooded Filippino. The land we're growing on is his through centuries of inheritance, and we feel very strongly about preserving its history.
It's a really cool (and long and involved) story you can read a little about here. Or come grab a beer with us at The Preservery next door and we'll tell ya all about it!

How can I help?

Feel free to reach out to us via email at erin@silverhandco.com or come chat with us! If you want to donate without purchasing anything from our site, you can do so here

I'm interested in leather working. Can I come tour the shop and check out your workspace?

We're always interested in sharing what we know, and have a passion for connecting with likeminded folks. If you're curious, experienced, or just want to see what it's all about, we encourage you to swing by and we'll happily tour the space with you!

Please don't hesitate to reach out with more questions to erin@silverhandco.com. We're a small husband-and-wife team at the moment, so we read each of your emails ourselves and will respond as soon as we can.
